Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Peeking Duck Studios Ltd. when you download, install or play MAYG. Please read them. If you do not agree with them, do not install or play the game.

1Who we are

MAYG (My Angry Yakuza Girlfriend) is made and operated by Peeking Duck Studios Ltd., a company registered in Nassau, The Bahamas ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at sinjin@peekingduck.io.

2Accepting these terms

By creating an account, installing the launcher, or playing MAYG, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

3Who can play

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
• You must be at least 18 to use the marketplace or any other paid feature of the game.
• You must not be located in, or a resident of, a country subject to sanctions that would make it unlawful for us to provide the game to you.

We may refuse, suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe these conditions are not met.

4Your account

You are responsible for your account, your password, and everything that happens under it. Keep your credentials to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

One person, one account, unless we say otherwise in writing. Do not sell, rent or transfer your account. Do not use another person's account.

5Licence to play the game

We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play MAYG for your own non-commercial entertainment. That licence lasts as long as these terms do.

You must not:

• Copy, sell, sublicense or distribute the game or any part of it.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code, except where the law expressly allows it.
• Modify the client, or use cheats, bots, macros, memory editors, packet manipulation or any other tool that gives an unfair advantage.
• Interfere with our servers, other players' sessions, or any anti-cheat measures.
• Scrape, data-mine or automate access to the game or its services.

6Virtual items and in-game currencies

MAYG includes in-game currencies, tokens and items, earned through play or obtained in the marketplace. These are features of a game and exist only inside it.

• Virtual items and in-game currencies give you a limited, personal licence to use them inside MAYG. They are not your property, they are not transferable outside the game, and they are not a balance held on your behalf.
• We may adjust and revise in-game token generation, earn rates, entry costs, drop rates, pricing and balancing at any time, subject to gameplay review and balancing as required. MAYG is a competitive game, and keeping it fair means changing these numbers when play data says we should.
• We may add, limit, replace or remove any in-game item, currency, match format or feature.
• Unless the law where you live says otherwise, purchases of virtual items are final and non-refundable.

We are not a financial services provider, and nothing on this site or in the game is financial, investment, legal or tax advice.

7Connecting an external wallet

Some features can be used with an external wallet held with a third-party provider. These features are optional — you can create an account and play MAYG for free without connecting anything.

If you do connect one:

• Your wallet is yours. We never see, request, hold or store your private keys, seed phrase or recovery details. If you lose access to your wallet, we cannot restore it and we cannot recover what was in it.
• Confirmed transactions cannot be undone. Once a transaction is recorded on the underlying network, neither we nor anyone else can reverse, cancel or amend it. Check every transaction before you confirm it.
• Third-party services are outside our control. Wallet providers, networks and marketplaces are independent of us. We are not responsible for their availability, fees, changes, security failures, or any loss arising from them.
• You are responsible for the security of your wallet, your device and your recovery details.
• Records on a public network are permanent and visible to anyone. Consider that before linking a wallet you would rather not have associated with your player name.

8Fair play and conduct

MAYG is a competitive game with voice chat. When you play, do not:

• Harass, threaten, stalk or abuse other players.
• Post or say anything hateful, sexually explicit toward a minor, or illegal.
• Impersonate anyone, including our staff.
• Cheat, exploit bugs, collude to manipulate outcomes, boost, or smurf to distort matchmaking.
• Advertise, solicit or run scams, including fake giveaways and fake support.

We may remove content, mute, restrict, suspend or permanently close accounts for breaking these rules. Serious or repeated breaches may mean losing access to your account and anything associated with it.

9Content you submit

You keep ownership of what you create and submit, such as your player name, chat messages and feedback. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and use it as needed to run and promote the game. You confirm you have the right to give us that licence.

Streaming and video

You are welcome to stream, record and publish MAYG gameplay, including monetised videos on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. Do not present your content as official, and do not use it to mislead people about the game or to sell access to it.

10Our intellectual property

MAYG, My Angry Yakuza Girlfriend and SYGNE are trademarks of Peeking Duck Studios Ltd. The game, its characters, artwork, music, code and all other content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you.

Any other trademarks that appear are the property of their respective owners.

11Availability, updates and changes

We work to keep MAYG running, but we do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may patch, update, change or take down features, servers, game modes or the whole service. Some features may also be limited by region, platform or account type. Where a change is significant and we can give notice reasonably, we will.

If we ever discontinue MAYG entirely, we will give as much notice as we reasonably can through our website and community channels.

12Suspension and termination

You can stop playing and close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably need to protect the game or other players. On termination, your licence to play ends and access to in-game items and currencies associated with the account may be lost.

13Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, MAYG is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Some countries do not allow certain warranties to be excluded. If you live somewhere like that, you keep whatever rights the law gives you and nothing here takes them away.

14Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost virtual items, or losses in the value of any in-game item or currency.

Where we are found liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

15Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the game, or your infringement of someone else's rights.

16Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and the courts of The Bahamas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, you may still have the right to bring proceedings in your own country and to rely on the consumer protections available to you there.

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us — most things are faster to fix by email.

17Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, give notice in the game or on our community channels. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.

18General

• If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
• If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
• You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation, merger or sale of the business.
• These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about MAYG.
